Signed to the newly-formed Atomicduster Records, and with a live exuberance that got them sell-out support slots with The Fall and Alabama 3, Hicks Milligan-Prophecy were formed from residual glacial deposits during the Mesozoic era, seventy three million years ago.
The band have performed at events including The Swedish Love Festival, The Drowned In Sound Winter Festival, the Jonsered Mini-Festival (also in Sweden), and have played gigs with the likes of The Rumble Strips, The Soho Dolls, The Mentalists, Battle, Misty's Big Adventure, and Mark Morriss of The Bluetones (Aug 2007) to name but a few...they will be appearing alongside a number of major acts at The Secret Garden Party 2007, later in the summer.
'The Good, The Bad & The Iceberg' EP, is currently dancing like your dad in shops nationwide and is available in all sorts of nice places around the world even. Or you could order from the record company direct - the band don't mind how, really they don't.
Captivated by the unique active ingredients in their melt-water, the band's ever expanding list of fans includes PlayLouder (who made the ‘When Icebergs Attack!’ EP their UK Single of the Week), Drowned in Sound, Gigwise, and Steve Lamacq, who playlisted ‘The Man Who Ate Japan’ on his BBC radio show...And regional music PR expert Ian Cheek (Bjork, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Death In Vegas) who has offered his services to help promote the band.
Also playlisted on several Students Union radio stations, 'The Man Who Ate Japan' remained in the Top 10 of the Ragtime N.U.S. charts, ‘the definitive chart of U.K. unsigned music’, for 25 weeks, with 6 of those spent top of the pile at #1.
In 2005 the band’s magazine, ‘The Transatlantic Iceberg’, was put forward for the National Emap Fanzine Awards 2005, and continues to attract new fans.
